Stay in the lowland tropical rainforest of Cat Tien National Park. Go wildlife spotting at night with our expert guides and trek to ‘Crocodile Lake’; home to the critically endangered Siamese crocodile. Visit a bear rehabilitation centre and an endangered primate research centre, helping to protect wildlife.

On this three day trip to Cat Tien you’ll stay in a lodge located right inside the park. Visit a bear rehabilitation centre set up by a local NGO and trek to ‘Crocodile Lake’, home to the critically endangered Siamese crocodile. Walk into the jungle in the still of the night to see nocturnal animals as they hunt for food. At the end of the trip, visit the Dao Tien Endangered Primate Species Centre where endangered monkeys, gibbons and langurs can be seen.

ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS

Cat Tien National Park

Day 1

Ho Chi Minh City – Cat Tien National Park

From Ho Chi Minh City it’s a four hour drive to Cat Tien National Park, which covers 720 square kilometers of lowland tropical rainforest. We begin our exploration of the park with a light trek to the bear rehabilitation centre. Established by a local NGO ‘Wildlife at Risk’, the center rescues bears that have been captured for the bile market or pet trade; and keeps them safe in an enclosure until they can be safely released back into the wild. We’ll head back to our lodge in the late afternoon.

Day 2

Cat Tien National Park

It’s first a drive, then a trek until we reach Crocodile Lake, home to the critically endangered Siamese crocodile. If you are lucky you may get to see one of these extremely rare animals. Afternoon, take a wildlife viewing cruise along the Ben Cu River. After returning to the lodge, grab your torch and take a drive into the forest with our naturalist to discover the nocturnal life of the park.

Day 3

Cat Tien National Park – Ho Chi Minh City

Take a leisurely breakfast this morning, then head for the Dao Tien Endangered Primate Species Centre. This center rescues and rehabilitates endangered primates before releasing them back into the forest. This valuable work helps to maintain a well-balanced ecosystem within the park. We’ll return to the lodge before the drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
