  • Day 1: Yangon Arrival

    Welcome to your bespoke luxury Myanmar tour! Your local guide will welcome you at Yangon Airport before taking you to your hotel for check-in and some free time to freshen up.

    We recommend having lunch, depending on your arrival time, at Monsoon Restaurant. Monsoon serves delicious and freshly prepared Myanmar cuisine.

    Optional Activity: A Vintage Ride
    Explore the sites of Yangon in true colonial style on-board the “Elephant Coach”, a restored 1945 vintage Chevrolet six-seater van. Please notify our Travel Specialists if you would like to partake in this optional sightseeing tour.

    Spend the afternoon exploring the colonial city center, viewing colonial buildings, busy street markets, and beautiful temples. Your tour will end at the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar's most sacred temple. According to local legend the original pagoda was built 2,500 years ago and then underwent several renovations until it took its current shape in the 15th century. The main stupa is 99 meters tall and has eight sides. The temple, surrounded by 64 small satellite stupas, is adorned with gold leaf. Your local guide will show you around the massive complex and explain the deep significance of the temple. Enjoy breathtaking views of the golden stupa.

    In the evening you'll be treated to an elegant dinner at the colonial-era Strand Hotel.

  • Day 2: Yangon - Heho - Inle Lake

    Today your luxury Myanmar tour starts with a short flight from Yangon Airport to Heho. Once you arrive in Heho you can enjoy the scenic one-hour drive to Inle Lake's gateway village, Nyaung Shwe.

    Cruise in style across Inle Lake in your private motorboat to your luxurious lakeside hotel. On the boat ride, you’ll pass a fascinating landscape of stilted villages, leg-rowing Inthar fishermen, and floating gardens.

    Once you arrive, check-in to your lakeshore hotel and take some time to relax and freshen up. Next, a private boat will take you out on the lake to visit the revered Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda.

    Time permitting, you can make a stop for a coffee break at Inthar Heritage House. Sample some of the delicious cakes and coffees and peruse the excellent display of information about traditional Inthar culture and history.

    Return to your hotel in time for a stunning sunset and enjoy dinner at your hotel.

  • Day 3: Inle Lake – Indein – Inle Lake

    After breakfast, we’ll head to the lake’s morning market, which shifts its location between lakeshore villages on a 5-day schedule. The market is frequented by local residents and surrounding hill tribes who come to sell and trade. (Please note: The market is held daily except on dark-moon and full-moon days.)

    Continue on to the small canal leading to the Pa-oh people’s village of Indein. You will discover the area on foot, walking through the village and wandering around the ancient stupas of beautiful Alaung Sitthou, an area that also offers breathtaking views of the lake below.

    Next, stop at an Inthar village and have lunch in a local house. This is sure to be a unique tour highlight. Relax on the cushions around a low table as you enjoy traditional Inthar dishes and learn first-hand about Inthar culture.

    After lunch, strike out on a trip to one of the lake’s villages to learn about local cottage industries. Visit the weaving village of Inpawkhone, where stunning textiles are made from silks and lotus roots. Continue on to a cheroot (Burmese cigar) factory and watch locals roll these iconic items by hand.

    Return to your hotel and feel free to spend some time at your leisure. If you wish, you can opt for an indulgent massage or beauty treatment at the resort’s spa, which happens to be one of the best in Myanmar.

    Enjoy a sunset dinner at your hotel.

  • Day 4: Inle Lake-Nyaung Shwe-Heho-Bagan

    Enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Then it’s time to check out of your hotel and transfer by boat to Nyaung Shwe to visit a few atmospheric monasteries and nunneries.

    If you choose, you can also visit the colorful morning market where locals sell flowers, fresh produce and other goods.

    Stop at Viewpoint Restaurant for a delicious Shan lunch. This restaurant is considered by many to serve the best Shan food in Myanmar.

    Travel to Heho Airport for your flight to Bagan. Once you arrive in Bagan, you’ll transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the evening at your leisure.

  • Day 5: Bagan

    Today, your luxury Myanmar tour offers an exciting optional activity.

    Optional Activity: Balloon Experience Over Bagan

    Take a magical flight at dawn over the temple studded-plains of Bagan in a hot air balloon. As you wait for your balloon to inflate, snack on a breakfast of pastries and croissants served with tea or coffee. Climb aboard your vessel and rise above the gilded stupas. Float over these ancient religious monuments against a backdrop of the Irrawaddy River, a truly unforgettable experience.

    Please note: This optional activity is only available from late October to late March. All flights depend on weather conditions.

    Start today with a visit to Nyaung Oo Market and peruse the fresh produce and other products on sale. Immerse yourself in local culture as you observe the daily activities of the friendly locals. Next, you'll visit the Shwezigon Pagoda, a prototype of later stupas in Myanmar.

    Continue today’s adventures at Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgyi, a revered cave temple adorned with stunning jataka mural paintings. Next, visit Htilominlo Temple, famous for its exquisite plaster carvings and sandstone decorations.

    At midday, escape the heat and enjoy lunch at your leisure.

    This afternoon’s activities take you to New Bagan to explore the many lacquer-ware workshops. Observe the skilled work of local artisans and learn how they craft each item by hand from start to finish.

    Afterwards, you’re in for a relaxing treat. Transfer to the jetty and climb aboard your private boat for a sunset cruise on the Irrawaddy River. Enjoy delicious sunset cocktails as you soak in breathtaking views of Bagan.

    Spend the rest of the evening at your leisure.

  • Day 6: Bagan – Yangon

    Rise and shine for a tour of the architecturally stunning Ananda Temple, one of Bagan’s brightest gems. Discover the nearby Ananda Okkyaung, one of the early-style brick monasteries that still survives today.

    Then, travel in style in a horse-drawn carriage among the temples. Starting at Ananda, you’ll pass dozens of breathtaking monuments as your carriage makes its way down packed-earth lanes. Feel free to stop where you please to take photos or to explore. Discovering the temples of Bagan from this different perspective is a relaxing way to soak in the magical atmosphere.

    Enjoy lunch at your leisure and then transfer to the airport for your flight to Yangon. Once you arrive in Yangon, you will transfer to your hotel.

    In the evening, enjoy a special farewell dinner at the elegant Le Planteur Restaurant, which serves delicious French and Asian cuisines.

  • Day 7: Yangon Departure

    On the final day of your luxury Myanmar tour, spend the morning exploring the famous Bogyoke Market (otherwise known as Scott Market), which boasts colonial architecture and cobblestone streets. This is the perfect spot for any last-minute souvenir shopping. (Please note: The market is closed on Mondays and public holidays.)

    Spend the rest of the day at your leisure before transferring to the airport for your onward travel arrangements.
