See Myanmar in style. Travelling by private motorboat, horse-carriage and elephant coach you’ll take sunset cruises, have wine-tasting sessions, see less-visited temples and unseen markets, visit craft villages and dine with local families of lake-based communities at Inle Lake.

Tour Yangon in a restored 1945 vintage Chevrolet, known as an ’Elephant Coach’. Watch sunset from Shwedagon Pagoda, overlooking the city. In the evening enjoy a welcome dinner at The Strand.

Head out onto the magnificent Inle Lake in a private motorboat and stay in a stilt bungalow with panoramic views of the lake. Enjoy a traditional lunch at an Inthar House in Nampan Village. Have a wine tasting session at the Inle Princess Wine Cave. Browse a lively morning market and visit the local nunneries and monasteries to learn about life in these Buddhist institutions.

Take a morning trip to the busy market of Nyaung Oo and see local life as Bagan residents do their morning shopping. Take a sunset cruise along the Irrawaddy River enjoying stunning views of Bagan with a cocktail. Clop along in a horse carriage to visit Ananda Temple and its nearby monastery. Pass the highest temple in Bagan and the enormous Dhammayangyi Temple.

Go to Bogyoke Market; filled with handmade goods and curios: a perfect place for gift shopping.

  • Day 1: Yangon

    Upon arrival, meet your guide who will assist you with all immigration procedures and transfer you to your hotel.

    If you have time, we recommend going for lunch at Monsoon Restaurant, which serves delicious Myanmar Cuisine.

    This afternoon, tour Yangon in a restored 1945 vintage Chevrolet, known as an ‘Elephant Coach’. First stop is the colonial city centre where you will pass old colonial buildings; reminders of the time when Yangon was a British Colonial outpost and was known as Rangoon. The tour ends at the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most revered site in Myanmar. See the sunset from here, overlooking the city.

    This evening enjoy a welcome dinner at The Strand Hotel.

  • Day 2: Inle Lake

    Take the short flight to Heho this morning. From here, it is a scenic one-hour drive to the village of Nyaung Shwe, the gateway to the magnificent Inle Lake.

    Head out onto the lake in a private motorboat, passing floating garden houses built on stilts, and the famous ‘leg-rowing’ fishermen who make their living from the lake’s plentiful supply of fish.

    The boat will take you to your resort situated by the lake side. Stay in a stilt bungalow with a lovely, panoramic view of the lakeContinue to the lake’s main sanctuary at Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda.

    If there is time, you can learn more about Inthar culture and history at the Inthar Heritage House, which also serves delicious coffee and cakes.

    Head back to your resort in time to see the spectacular sunset over the lake. In the evening, you will be served a traditional Shwe style dinner on lacquer plates.

  • Day 3: Inle Lake

    Optional: See the lake’s lively morning market, where the community of the lake; including local hill tribes, all come to trade with each other. It’s a bustling centre of activity with many interesting sights.

    Explore the west side of the lake and the Pa-Oh village of Indein. A walk up to the top of Alaung Sitthou provides great views of the lake.

    On the way back, enjoy lunch at an Inthar House in Nampan Village. You will sit on cushions at a low-table and be served a selection of traditional Inthar dishes.

    You have a chance to see more of Myanmar’s rich craft heritage next in a visit to the weaving village of Inpawkhone. Also visit a cheroot factory, where the cigars are still made in the traditional way, by hand.

    Return to the resort, where the rest of your afternoon is free.

    Before dinner, enjoy a wine tasting session at the Inle Princess Wine Cave.

  • Day 4: Inle Lake-Nyaung Shwe-Heho-Bagan

    After breakfast, transfer to the town of Nyaung Shwe. Browse the lively morning market and visit the local nunneries and monasteries to learn about life in these Buddhist institutions.

    Take lunch at the excellent Viewpoint Restaurant before driving to Heho Airport and your flight to Bagan.

    Once in Bagan you will be transferred to your hotel, where the rest of your evening is free.

  • Day 5: Bagan

    Start your day with a morning trip to the busy market of Nyaung Oo and see local life as Bagan residents do their morning shopping.

    See the glittering Shwezigon Pagoda, before visiting the cave temple filled with exquisite murals at Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgyi. Next is more interesting craftsmanship with the fine plaster carvings of Htilominlo Temple.

    Afterwards, take a break from the midday sun.

    Visit a workshop next producing lacquer ware. Bagan is famous for this craft, and the skills of this are constantly being refined and passed down from generation to generation.

    Just before sunset, board a boat and take a cruise along the Irrawaddy River. Take in the stunning views of Bagan with a cocktail as the sun sets.

    After the cruise, the rest of your evening is free at leisure.

  • Day 6: Bagan

    This morning, further explore Bagan in a horse carriage. Clopping along, visit Ananda Temple and its nearby monastery. You’ll also pass the highest temple in Bagan, Thatbyinnyu; and the enormous Dhammayangyi Temple, noted for its intricate brickwork.Optional hot air balloon trip over Bagan: A once in lifetime experience, take an unforgettable hot air balloon ride over the temples of Bagan at dawn. Available from October to March only, the 45minute to 1-hour flight glides over temples, stupas, villages and dependable on the wind, the Irrawaddy River. Enjoy lunch at leisure before you transfer to the airport for the flight to Yangon.

    Relax at your hotel in the afternoon.

    Your farewell dinner will be at Le Planteur Restaurant, which serves excellent Asian and French cuisine in a tasteful setting.

    An early start will get you to Bogyoke Market, previously known as ‘Scott Market’. Filled with handmade goods and curios, it’s a perfect place for gift shopping.

    The rest of your day is free at leisure until your transfer. If you have more time, you can try one of our tours. Choose from the following:Art and Antiques Tour: Take a full-day tour of Yangon’s antique shops and lively art scene, with trips to local galleries and dinner at the historic ‘House of Memories’ restaurant.Food tour: Discover the food of Myanmar with visits to fresh markets, tea houses and restaurants. Let our expert local guide take you to the best place and teach you about the food life of the cityTwante: Take a boat to the pottery village of Twante, where you will meet the friendly locals and see them make pottery in their workshops. On the way back, enjoy lunch on board your boat.
