We’ll even offer the unique chance to have your very own Balinese wedding ceremony, complete with traditional wedding garb and a private photographer.

Imagine you and your loved one exploring the shady paths of Ubud’s sacred Monkey Forest and taking in the peaceful view of Ulun Datan Temple floating on Lake Bratan. You’ll get privately guided tours of Bali’s most iconic sites, such as the rice terraces of Jatiluwih and the dramatic seaside temple of Tanah Lot. If you’re feeling active, pay a visit to Kintamani and go paddle boarding in the tranquil waters of Lake Batur. Afterward, take a relaxing dip in a volcanic hot spring and enjoy lunch on a crater rim, soaking up the spectacular views over Mount Batur, Bali’s most famous active volcano.

You’ll also learn about Bali’s bold cuisine in a fun, hands-on cooking class with a local chef. And, of course, there’s plenty of time for swimming and relaxing on Bali’s world-famous beaches. You’ll even get an ocean cruise on a sailing catamaran to the secluded island of Nusa Lembongan. But your honeymoon wouldn’t be complete without a chance to catch the sunset at the majestic Uluwatu Temple perched on a steep cliff face. From this spectacular location, you’ll also get the opportunity to watch the enigmatic kecak dance.

Throughout the tour your guide will take you to the best local spots, including markets and village compounds where you can immerse yourself in the Balinese culture and live the romantic journey of your dreams.

“I wish I had my honeymoon here! Bali is made for romance, and this tour gives you some rare chances to get to know the island and the culture like a true Balinese local.”

  • Day 2: Ubud City Tour

After a leisurely breakfast, your expert guide will meet you at your resort and take you on a half-day exploration of the many charms of Ubud.

First, to get you into the local spirit, we’ll provide a Balinese sarong (worn by both men and women) for you to wear as we go on our exploration. We’ll head first to the Sacred Monkey Forest to meet its cheeky simian residents. Next we’ll continue to the heart of Ubud to see the royal palace where the royal family still resides today. Then, take a leisurely stroll to the local market where you can watch the hustle and bustle of local trade, or even jump in and do a little shopping yourself. The market offers a vast and colorful array of textiles, handicrafts, jewelry and knickknacks.

We’ll continue to the Blanco Renaissance Museum, which houses the works of Antonio Blanco, arguably the most famous artist to have lived in Bali. The museum is located in his former home and displays an extensive collection as well as his studio.

Enjoy a sumptuous, organic lunch at a local restaurant.

After returning to your hotel, the rest of the day is free to spend at your leisure.

  • Day 3: Traditional Balinese Wedding Ceremony

Today is a special day on your Bali honeymoon—it’s the day of your traditional Balinese wedding ceremony!

Start the day with breakfast, a relaxing morning, and lunch at your leisure. In the afternoon (the time will be confirmed by your hotel), you’ll be brought to Tegenungan waterfall to gather holy water and to purify yourself in the sacred spring. You and your loved one will be given a sarong and sash to perform this ritual. From here, you’ll walk to Batusepih Village, approximately 1 kilometer away, where your ceremony will take place. En route, you’ll stop at the village temple to request the blessing of the gods for your wedding.

When you arrive at the village, you’ll be dressed in traditional Balinese wedding garb, including hair and make-up. When you’re all ready, you’ll make a segehan offering—a small offering made of rice that is often put at the entrance of homes—to officially start the ceremony.

The main wedding ritual will begin at 18:00. You and your loved one will perform the mebayuh and mebiakala rituals, which are believed to cleanse the spiritual and physical body and to prepare couples to enter a life of matrimony. Traditional music called gender will be played throughout this ceremony.

Next, you’ll proceed to the Bale Gede building. Here, you will pray for a happy, long-lasting, and blessed marriage. A private photo shoot will follow this ritual.

Finally, you’ll ride on a palanquin carried by four people in a megayot, or wedding procession, to the part of the village where you will dine. At 20:00, you’ll be served a sumptuous Balinese dinner, along with a bottle of local wine.

Throughout the ceremony a private photographer will be documenting each step of the ritual, from the purification at Tegenungan waterfall to your dinner. You’ll be given a CD of photos at the end of the evening.

    Overnight in Ubud

Meals included on this day: Breakfast and dinner

  • Day 4: Ubud - Ulundanu – Tanah Lot

Today your Bali honeymoon will show you how to make Balinese cuisine at a hands-on cooking lesson.

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you’ll be driven approximately an hour away to beautiful Rumah Desa village tucked into the lush countryside. Here you’ll learn about Balinese culture, architecture, tropical plants and traditional rural life.

Your host in the kitchen today will be a local expert chef who will explain all the regional ingredients and flavor profiles and instruct you on traditional techniques. When you finish your class, you’ll sit down in a peaceful open-air setting to enjoy a delicious lunch that you just created!

After you’re sated and rested, we’ll drive 1 hour north to Lake Bratan to view the stunning Ulun Danu Temple. Situated on several small islands in the middle of the tranquil waters of the lake, the temple appears to be floating. We’ll also do a little light exploring of the area’s local market, which is famous for its vast array of tropical spices, fruits and vegetables.

Continue your scenic drive to one of Bali’s most iconic and beautiful sites, the rice terraces of Jatiluwih, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll drink in panoramic views of the “rice granary of Bali” while your guide explains the subak style of rice farming that is unique to Bali.

Finally, we’ll drive to Tanah Lot in the late afternoon. Considered one of Bali’s most famous and beautiful temples, Tanah Lot is dramatically located on a small island just off the coast, hovering over the sea. Watch the splendid Bali sunset over this romantic scene.

Return to Ubud and enjoy the rest of your evening at your leisure.

  • Day 5: Ubud – Nusa Dua

Get an early start this morning. After breakfast and check out from your resort, journey to the active volcano Mount Batur where a day of activities awaits.

Take a paddleboard out onto the caldera lake at the foot of the volcano at about 08:30, when the water is as still and calm as a mirror. Skimming over the surface on a standup-paddle board is not only a great workout for strength and power, but also a wonderful way to enjoy the surrounding landscape of lava fields and lush countryside.

After your 2-hour paddling session, a snack of fresh fruit will bring back new energy. Then, treat your muscles to a relaxing dip in the nearby hot springs heated by the active volcano.

After your soak in the healing mineral waters, you’ll be served an organic lunch in a cozy restaurant on the crater rim. Gaze down on commanding views of the caldera, with Mount Batur as the backdrop. Then, a stylish spa in Ubud’s bustling Hanoman Street will provide you with a pampering hot-stone massage, a wonderful way to finish the afternoon.

Continue to Nusa Dua, and after checking in to your hotel, enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

We’ll start with a scenic drive to the Bukit Peninsula, which is home to some of Bali’s best beaches. The sheer cliffs and dramatic coastline offers hidden coves that are great for exploring.

Next, head to the Semara Resort Uluwatu where spectacular ocean views await at the cliff top. Take the funicular down to the secluded, private beach. Lounge on the golden sand or go for a swim in the crystalline waters.

At the Finns Beach Club Restaurant you’ll be treated to a set-menu lunch with a beer or cocktail. The location of the restaurant on the secluded beach of the Semara Uluwatu Resort is impossible to beat.
